Your stairs should not decide where you live in your own home

It starts small. You carry the laundry up in two trips. You grip the railing a little tighter. You start sleeping in the guest room downstairs because the bedroom upstairs feels like a climb. Then one day you realize the stairs are making decisions for you — which rooms you use, when you go out, how independent you feel in the house you love.

A stairlift changes that back. It is a chair that rides on a rail up and down your staircase. You sit down, buckle the seatbelt, press and hold the button, and glide up or down. No climbing. No strain. No worry. Thousands of Tampa Bay homeowners use one every day to stay in the homes they love.

What we do

Tampa Stairlift Pros is a stairlift company serving the Tampa Bay area. We sell and install straight stairlifts for staircases with no turns, curved stairlifts custom-built for stairs with landings and turns, and outdoor stairlifts for porch steps, garages, and decks. We also do stairlift repair, stairlift rental for short-term needs, used and refurbished stairlifts, heavy-duty models, maintenance plans, and stairlift removal when one is no longer needed.

Every job starts with a free in-home assessment. We come to you, measure your staircase, talk through what you need, and give you a written estimate. No pressure, no obligation. If a stairlift is not the right answer for your stairs or your situation, we will tell you that too.

Why Tampa Bay families choose a stairlift

Most of our customers are planning to age in place — they want to stay in their own home rather than move. A stairlift is often the single change that makes that possible, because stairs are the number one barrier in a two-story home. It is also one of the least disruptive home changes you can make: the rail mounts to your stair treads, not your walls, so there is no construction mess, and most straight stairlifts install in a single visit.

Others need one temporarily — after knee or hip surgery, during recovery from an injury, or while caring for an aging parent who is visiting for a season. That is what our rental program is for: a stairlift for months, not years, installed and removed by us.

Built for real Florida staircases

Tampa Bay homes have character — and character means interesting stairs. Split-level ranch homes in Brandon with short flights. Two-story townhomes in Westchase. Historic bungalows in St. Petersburg with steep, narrow stairs. Waterfront homes in Apollo Beach with outdoor steps down to the dock. We have measured and fitted stairlifts on all of them. Curved rails are custom-built to your exact staircase, so turns, landings, and tight corners are all workable.

And because Florida storms knock out power, every stairlift we install runs on rechargeable batteries that keep working through an outage — the rail charges them whenever the power is on. Our battery backup guide explains how it works.

What to expect from us

Straight answers. A written estimate before you decide anything. Clean, careful installation by people who do this every day. And service after the sale — if your lift ever needs attention, you call the same number and talk to us, not a call center three states away.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a stairlift work?

A stairlift is a motorized chair that travels along a rail mounted to your stair treads. You sit in the chair, fasten the seatbelt, and press and hold a button on the armrest (or use a remote control) to ride up or down. The chair stops automatically at the top and bottom, and it runs on rechargeable batteries, so it works even during a power outage.

Will a stairlift damage my stairs or walls?

No. The rail mounts to the stair treads themselves — not the wall — using a small number of support brackets. Installation leaves only small screw holes in the treads, which are easy to fill if the lift is ever removed. There is no construction, no dust, and no damage to your walls.

How long does installation take?

A straight stairlift usually installs in one visit, often in just a few hours. Curved stairlifts take longer because the rail is custom-built to your staircase — typically a few weeks from measurement to installation day, with the install itself taking about half a day.
